We are very happy to announce that we will be running our second MapInfo User Conference in Dublin on April 9th, at the Chartered Accountant’s House, Pearse Street, Dublin 2. This is the second in our series of bi-annual events that we offer to our thousand strong MapInfo user base in Ireland, as part of our commitment to supporting our users and leading in geospatial innovation with the very best in the latest GIS technology.

Since Gamma’s last MapInfo user gathering in Ireland in 2012, there have been plenty of changes with Gamma’s relationship with Putney Bowes. This has been recognised in the development of a number of solutions in the financial, retail and insurance sectors that see Gamma and Pitney Bowes continuing to break new ground in these core markets. Further evidence of this synergy is demonstrated by Gamma winning partner of the year awards from PBS for two years in a row.

We want to show that we are equally as committed to out local authority and central government user base by showing them what’s in store from us over the coming years. Whether this is in the continued evolution of MapInfo Professional (by moving to a multi-core solution in its next iteration) or in the new cloud based suite of mapping software such as Stratus and the Spectrum Technology Platform, there is a lot to show and tell.

The conference will address a number of key GIS user groups in the public sector, including water, roads, planning and IT as well as looking at general use. With speakers from MapInfo’s public sector division, from the development team of MapInfo Professional, from Irish local authority GIS leaders and from public sector GIS professionals overseas, we are planning a comprehensive gathering of highly relevant speakers and users.

I am really looking forward to meeting all of our users at the event, as well as some new faces.
