TEAGASC CHOOSE BIZMAPS FOR ONLINE REPS MAPPING SOLUTION
Teagasc, the Irish Agriculture and Food Authority, has chosen BizMaps, a leading Application Service Provider (ASP) of spatial solutions, to develop and host an Internet based mapping system for the Rural Environment Protection Scheme (REPS). The system will enable professionals to mark maps on-line for the purpose of preparing REPS plans. It will utilise Ordnance Survey 25 inch and Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development LPIS maps.
Users access an easy-to-use map interface over the Internet through a standard web browser. BizMaps host and maintain all software and data – in this way, no internal IT or data resources are required to manage the solution, significantly reducing costs and facilitating easy rollout of the solution across the entire organisation to over 20 local offices.
Eugene Ryan, Head of REPS for Teagasc, comments, “Teagasc selected BizMaps out of a number of global vendors for the simple reason that they can provide the most cost-effective solution to satisfy our requirements. Bizmaps were able to demonstrate their ability to match our functional requirements exactly.
