DIGITAL MAPPING - NORTHERN IRELAND

What is it?
Digital mapping includes all map data in vector and raster (or scanned) format. Most digital mapping in Northern Ireland is produced by the Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland.

GAMMA provide digital raster and vector mapping, aerial and ortho-photography for all areas, rivers, roads and much more to meet any mapping requirements you may have. Maps can be incorporated into any GIS system allowing for the provision of any spatial analysis and routing applications.

From April 2006 onwards the Northern Ireland Civil Service Departments, Agencies and Non Departmental Public Bodies and Local Authorities can access specified mapping data free of charge for internal use under the Northern Ireland Mapping Agreement (NIMA).

GIS data can be provided in the preferred formats of most of the main GIS vendors (MapInfo, ESRI, etc.). We can select data for any area, large and small to suit your project requirements. GAMMA act as your contact with the raw data providers ensuring that you are dealing with a single provider for the duration of your project.

How is it used?
Digital mapping is at the core of every GIS. Whether it’s used as a backdrop to display geocoded customer information, or in vector format to calculate the best route on a road network, it is an essential component. GAMMA recognise the importance of digital mapping and consequently, only partner with the best map data providers. We offer solutions that support critical decision-making in many fields, so accurate and comprehensive mapping is always a prerequisite.
