Metadata Tool
MapInfo Manager consists of a library containing information about your data, including references to the actual data sets– a single point of truth. A key facility of the library is the management of metadata. Metadata literally means information about your data. Metadata can include information such as the vintage, source, owner, origin, location, geographic area of the data and more. This information is critical for users to understand what the data represents and its fitness for purpose for a project or analysis. Metadata is essential to helps users understand the suitability of a data set for a specific purpose. If there are questions about the data, then the “owner” or custodian of the data can also become known through the metadata.
ISO and INSPIRE Compliant
Metadata can be structured to several different standards, including ISO 19115 and INSPIRE to ensure standards are adhered to for interoperability.
